Our Featured Dog...Max
Max is a sweet, gentle 4 yr old red male with a docked tail and natural ears. He was owner surrendered in Las Cruces by an older couple who said he was 'too rambunctious' for them. While Max does have lots of wonderful energy, he also has a slight vision problem. It is not serious and is more a depth perception problem than not being able to see. He loves to run & play but tends to bump into you as he's running past. This doesn't slow him down and is actually somewhat endearing. He loves sitting with a person and just being rubbed & hugged & petted. Read more about Max on his page.
DOBERMAN NEWS!
Carole Baker, an award-winning sculptress, has crafted beautiful Doberman bookends, one of which will be given to each donor of $100 or more to Doberman Rescue of New Mexico. Your donation will be completely tax deductible since Carole has donated all of her time and materials to this cause. She has painted some of the bookends black/tan, some red/rust, and she will custom paint a bookend in blue/rust, fawn/rust or white/tan if you prefer.
Carole has a heart for the Doberman breed and decided to blend her talent as a bronze sculptor with a fundraising idea to help generate much needed funds for DRNM so they would be able to provide special medical attention to some of their rescued Dobermans. The result is a special one of a kind tribute to the breed that we all love, Dobermans.

2008 DOBERMAN SPRING FLING!
The 3rd Annual Doberman Spring Fling was a "splashing" success! Nearly 40 Dobermans and their families joined us in Corrales, NM for a beautiful day of fun and food. Three Dobermans decided to take a dip in the pond, surprising the koi, the frogs and their owners!
Carole Baker, hostest of the event, arranged for live music with a local band. They kept the day lively with their various rhythm and tunes.
All of the Dobermans were sporting colorful bandanas, and ranged in age from 6 months to 14 years. Owners enjoyed themselves on the grassy lawn, relaxing under the shade of giant cottonwood trees.

ADOPTION SUCCESS STORY!
I adopted Chica in July of 2006. Since that time she has taken the AKC Canine Good Citizens class and received a CGC certificate recognizing her achievements; has become a pet therapy dog with Therapy Dogs, Inc., and is now able to do volunteer pet therapy visits to hospitals, nursing homes, and other facilities; and has become a Reading Education Assistance Dog (R.E.A.D). “R.E.A.D dogs are registered therapy dogs who volunteer with their owners/handlers as a team going to schools, libraries, and other settings as reading companions for children.” (Reading Education Assistance Dogs brochure)
We are taking another obedience class and looking forward to possibly participating in some AKC rally events. Chica is easily the best dog I have ever had, and I hope that our story will encourage more people to adopt dogs through rescue organizations. -- Carolyn H.
